The Peggy Grant Memorial Service Award (PGMSA)
The Peggy Grant Memorial Service Award is given to that individual whose sportsmanship, commitment to the breed, and longtime devotion to the SHCA, at all times and at all levels, serve as an example for us all.
Criteria for nomination:
Must be living, a posthumous award would defeat the purpose
A minimum of 25 years ownership and involvement with Siberian Huskies
A minimum of 20 years as a member of SHCA
Active in other dog related organizations – for example
All breed club
Area Siberian Husky club
Performance or Companion event club
Rescue activities
Long term documented service to above clubs
Elected offices
Appointed committees and tasks
Other activities
Well known to have the highest ethical standard
Well known for sportsmanship
Nominations for this award can be made by one individual. Multiple signatures in support of a nominee are not necessary and do not factor into the decision of the Committee. The Committee shall consist of the Chair of the Awards Committee, the Chair of the PGMSA Committee, and the SHCA President. It is not the intent of the committee to disappoint anyone who may know his or her name has been mentioned as a possible recipient. It is the feeling of the committee that this award should be a complete surprise to the winner. We ask that the nomination be done in confidence, guarding the potential surprise for the winner.
The deadline for submission of nominees will be June 30, 20xx, as previously published in the May/June Bulletin.
