Fellowship Awards

Member of Merit This award is granted to those SHCA members who have worked diligently on behalf of the Siberian Husky and have not met the criteria for an Honorary Life Membership.  This award does not negate future consideration for Honorary Life Membership. Recognition would be in the form of a certificate, a marked catalog from the calendar year in which the award is given, one time only, an article about the individual printed in our Newsletter, and recognition at the annual meeting for the year the award was given.

Member of Distinction This award is granted to those SHCA members who have been members for 35 or more years.  An article about the individual would be placed in the Newsletter to educate the young members of the history of those who preceded them.  Further, a certificate and recognition at the annual meeting in the year the award is given would be warranted.

Siberian Ambassador This award is granted to non-SHCA members who have co-existed with, saved, or worked on behalf of the Siberian Husky in a capacity that has benefitted the breed and people who own or are interested in furthering their knowledge.  Recognition would be granted in the form or a certificate and recognition in our Newsletter.

The deadline for submission of nominees will be June 30, 20xx, published in the May/June Bulletin.

AKC Outstanding Sportsmanship Award:  This award celebrates individuals who deserve special recognition for going above and beyond in the Sport of Purebred Dogs, and who embody the AKC Code of Sportsmanship while being an active and valued member of an AKC Member Club. There are three criteria that must be assessed when considering if the nominee deserves "special recognition" for their service the past year. The individual must have "made a difference in the sport of purebred dogs", "embodied the AKC Code of Sportsmanship", and "been an active and valued member of an AKC Member Club".
